God Stories of Love
One of the most powerful arguments for the existence of God is answered prayer and God Stories, where He intervened directly in our lives. Many times these are not acknowledged or recognized. Many people are willfully blind to God’s providence and wouldn’t recognize his presence or intervention even if He was standing right before them. We do not recognize miracles. We take them for granted though they occur frequently. What does it look like to live for God? How do we discer

Canceled Three Times
Jerry Bergman’s new book Canceled Three Times, Emerging Victorious, tells about what he experienced as a student in academia and later as a college professor as a Darwin doubter. After a lot of reading and careful research, he determined that evolution of life from non-life did not make scientific sense. But when he brought these issues to his professors and colleagues, he was met with a lot of consternation and anger. As an atheist, he wrote many articles in the American Ath

Engaging a Hostile Culture
Dan and Teresa Janzen are missionaries to South Sudan, and every time they come back to the United States, they observe each time the degree that the culture has changed to become boldly hostile to the Christian faith. In addition, the church has become weak, unresponsive, and unable to engage this culture. The majority of those in leadership in the church grew up as baby boomers and became Christians during the Jesus movement of the 60’s and 70’s. Though they have remained f

If You Were to Die Tonight, Where Would You Go?
Joshua Gilbert tells the story of an older gentleman who would hand out tracts and ask this question of those who passed by. The effect this had on the people taking this message from him was not realized until thousands of people came forward with their testimony and finally tracked him down and thanked him.
Death is an interesting phenomenon. There is a moment where the soul leaves and everything ceases functioning. It’s not like you die one cell at a time; it’s like a ligh

No Worries in Heaven
I can’t say that our relationship was perfect. Though Vivian and I had been together as a couple 50 years and was married almost 49 years, we still had rough spots that needed sanding. We had signed up for a marriage mentorship where we studied the Love and Respect series taught by Emerson Eggrichs. We learned that the needs of a man and a woman are different. A woman’s primary need is love and the man’s need is respect. Because these needs are different, and if we don’t unde

Human Trafficking Rescues
Slavery didn’t end when Abraham Lincoln gave the Emancipation Proclamation or when William Wilberforce campaigned to make it illegal in England. It went underground and is still a major problem today. Human Trafficking is often the fate of immigrants, legal and illegal. Often they are brought in to work in restaurants, car washes, prostitution or organized crime, and because they are forced to work in deplorable conditions under the threat of being reported, the abuse can be

We Were Created to Thrive
Dan Janzen draws on his experience as a missionary to South Sudan to analyze the reason why some cultures thrive and flourish and others languish in poverty. South Sudan is almost entirely dependent upon charity organizations to provide basic needs, and as a result the population has become so dependent that people move to the cities to be closer to the donated supplies and abandon farms. Dan’s plan is instead to provide agricultural training, leadership training and English

He deduced that the world is governed by these interrelated rules, and they must have come from some higher intell
