Jerry Bergman’s new book Canceled Three Times, Emerging Victorious, tells about what he experienced as a student in academia and later as a college professor as a Darwin doubter. After a lot of reading and careful research, he determined that evolution of life from non-life did not make scientific sense. But when he brought these issues to his professors and colleagues, he was met with a lot of consternation and anger.
As an atheist, he wrote many articles in the American Atheist magazine and was friends with Madalyn Murray O’Hair. Her total rejection of her son when he became a Christian helped push him away from atheism and consider Christianity. Canceled Three Times is his experience in three academic institutions, the trials he faced there, and what he decided ultimately to do with his spiritual life.
