The Hydroplate Theory (or Model) is an explanation of a mechanism where the flood of Noah got its water and what happened to it afterwards. This mode was proposed in the 1980s and Dr. Walt Brown developed it and wrote about it in his book "In The Beginning". Kevin Lea is a proponent of this model and we have him as a guest on this episode. The primary scripture supporting the Hydroplate theory is Genesis 7:11, which describes the breaking up of the fountains of the deep. In this model, the earth's crust before the flood was riding upon a reservoir of water under high pressure. The flood occurred when a fissure opened up in the earth's crust allowing the trapped water to escape at supersonic speed. It caused jets of water to spew into space, along with rocks and debris from the fissure. As the continents separated, they rode upon the remaining water reaching speeds up to 45 miles an hour. The entire earth was covered with water, and as the continents reached obstacles, mountains rose up and valleys sank. Asteroids and trans Neptune objects are remnants of this disaster. Walt Brown's 9th edition is on his website at creationscience.com.
