Ragtime at Timberfest in Lewiston, Michigan

With Steve Spracklen, ragtime pianist

The Lewiston Area Historical Society hosts ragtime pianist Steve Spracklen in concert at the museum. The Lewiston Area Historical Society maintains several buildings full of artifacts of the lumbering era which took place between 1891 and 1910. After the lumbering operation was over, the town survived with farming and tourism. Lewiston is a playground for hunters and fishermen, and there is a great effort by the residents to preserve their heritage. Timberfest is their celebration of the lumber heritage with community music, food and talent, like axe throwing and wood carving.
